Nanhe Kadam comprises of committed members , including housewives, engineers, working women, lawyers, doctors, businessmen, artists and students, each of whom strive to create a difference. We are united by a common goal of empowering India’s children through education.
Aneesh currently works as Sr. Vice President at Industrial Equipments Co. He is currently leading their New Ventures Group in power generation and distribution solutions. He earlier worked at Reliance Infrastructure. He holds a B.E. degree (with Honours) in Mechanical Engineering. His active involvement in a number of initiatives in the past, such as Rotaract Club of Chandigarh, raising funds for a charity concert to perform cardiac surgeries of 15 children, organizing Pulse Polio campaigns and spearheading on the ground operations for Khelshala (helping transform lives of disadvantaged children through sports) motivated him to take up the cause of educating the less privileged.
Ramandeep is a SAP Consultant. He has been associated with social causes like Khelshala and CSR Group at his work place. Having worked closely with children, he always cherished the dream of being more deeply involved in improving their future. With Nanhe Kadam, he found a place where he could realize this wish. His will to contribute to the society and his belief in education as the fuel for progress had him associate with us.
A Lawyer by profession, Shikhir’s sentient exposure to crucial subjects like human rights and related laws during graduation, coupled with the experience gained during his internships with a number of NGOs and legal firms stirred him to share the Nanhe Kadam platform for this noble cause. He is very passionate about humanitarian causes and believes that helping the children and making them educated will help in eradication of all kinds of evils prevalent in the society.
Misha is a Management Consultant at McKinsey and Company, a strategic consulting firm. Misha holds a B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering together with an M.B.A. degree from Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow. He has been engaged in voluntary work for the last 8 years. He has worked as an NSS coordinator for Commonwealth Youth Credit Initiative. He is also a past president of Rotaract Club of Chandigarh. Misha has been associated with diverse causes. Nanhe Kadam is an extension to his resolve to help bring equal opportunities to the underprivileged.
Dilpreet is currently pursuing her Residency in Pathology and has completed her MBBS. Always inclined towards serving the neglected sections of the society, it is this conviction which propelled her to opt for the medical profession. Her additional experiences at the Pulse Polio campaign and rural postings have given her the impetus to make a contribution towards the upliftment of less privileged kids. Her association with Nanhe Kadam is rooted in the belief that true difference can be made when the country's youth takes up this cause.
Aabha is presently pursuing her B.E. degree in Computer Science Engineering from Panjab University. She has been associated with Nanhe Kadam for the past 2 years and has headed the volunteer based projects. As an active member of Rotaract Club of Chandigarh, where she also serves as the Joint Public Relations Officer for the tenure 2012-2013, she has contributed to raising funds for Rotary's End Polio Now Campaign and also worked for Rotaract’s flagship initiative - Heartline. She has been responsible for the new design, development and maintenance of this website.
Sanampreet currently works at Global Land Masters(Construction Company). He was an Assistant Manager at India Yamaha Motors Pvt. Ltd. He holds a B. E. in Mechanical Engineering. He has been engaged in social work for the past 5 years, being an active voice at the NSS platform and Blood Donation Camps in and around Chandigarh. He hopes to make education a reality for every child in India, considering it provides the best start to one's life and the road to human progress.
Currently working at GlaxoSmithKline, Sanjam is a MBA (Pharma) from NIPER and B.Pharmacy graduate (gold medallist). Actively volunteering for Global Cancer Concern India inspired her to help those striving to achieve something by overcoming obstacles. Driven by a passion to kindle and motivate young minds, she truly believes that education is a human right with immense power to transform lives. Her work at Nanhe Kadam emanates from a resolve to provide access to good education to underprivileged kids of the country.
After completing her MBBS from Government Medical College Chandigarh, Aakriti was awarded a Post-doctoral Fellowship by Yale University, USA. Her research efforts deal with improving health care quality and delivery especially in the developing countries. She is an active member of a national healthcare quality initiative in China (China-PEACE). Her strong background in health services research and passion to translate it into comprehensive, equitable and efficient healthcare delivery among the masses draws her to Nanhe Kadam. Her belief resonates with our motto – “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a small step.”
He has completed his MBBS from GMCH-32, Chandigarh and plans to pursue his post graduation in internal medicine from the USA. He has been an active member of the Rotaract club and Nanhe Kadam, since its inception. For over a decade, he has maintained a conceptual continuity in his professional and volunteer careers. This in turn has given his raw talents, manual dexterity, analytical thinking coupled with compassion for others, an outlet to help the society.He feels extremely proud and fortunate to be a part of a fraternity that can truly improve the health conditions of the underprivileged, if they so desire, in small but significant ways.
Another pioneer involved in the inception of Nanhe Kadam, Ajay is a well-established businessman, but is known to often let his heart rule his mind. Entering into this foray was only natural for him, since he considers education a bulwark against poverty and backwardness. With full dedication to the cause of underprivileged children, he aims to provide equal opportunities to each child to help them recognize their unique potential.
Hailing from a small town in Punjab, this industrialist has come a long way in transforming his dreams to reality. Satish is a Master of Arts in Economics. For many years, he has been a regular donor to CRY, Helpage India as well as orphanages such as Bal Niketan. Realizing the importance of nurturing young scholars, he continues to render financial support for deserving causes. His enthusiasm for discovering and encouraging future entrepreneurs provides a guiding light for the team.
Renu is a Zoology graduate who always strived to offer a helping hand to those in need. Together with being a generous and altruistic homemaker, she has ardently contributed towards various charitable institutions, both monetarily, as well as by continual participation in their activities. Her compassionate attitude towards the special needs of children is valued by every team member. Having the kernel of Nanhe Kadam embedded deep within her heart, she wishes to devote her time and energy for these young ones.
Tania is currently pursuing her MBA at INSEAD. She earlier worked as Senior Business Analyst at Leerink Swann, a healthcare consulting company in New York. She holds an M.S. in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and a B.E. in Biotech Engineering. She represented Social Committee at Leerink and ran firm-wide community-focused events. She volunteered for Embrace, a non-profit for promoting low-cost infant warmers in developing countries. She believes quality education unlocks the doors to learning throughout life, and plays a vital role in streamlining the overall development of each child.
An avid artist, advocate of environment conservation and a guest lecturer at various institutes, Neenu has been spreading the message of education for all, through the medium of art. Nanhe Kadam remains another milestone in her journey to work for socially pertinent causes. Besides being one of the founder members of Nanhe Kadam, Neenu has also founded and is currently the President of 'Saplings', a registered NGO founded in 2004, that organizes numerous environmental awareness events in schools, colleges, slums and public places.
Saurabh N. Agarwal is a Principal at Warburg Pincus LLC. In New York. He is a member of the firm's Energy and Natural Resources group, focusing on the evaluation, execution and management of oil, gas, power and related investments both domestically and internationally. Previously, he worked at McKinsey & Company in New Jersey and New Delhi, and Temasek Holdings in Mumbai. He is a director of CASA Exploration, Delonex Energy, Velvet Energy and Competitive Power Ventures Holdings, and also works with Venari Resources and Canbriam Energy. Mr. Agarwal holds a B. Tech. in electrical engineering and an M.S. in microelectronics from IIT Bombay, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. During his days at IIT, Mr. Agarwal spearheaded the Unnati initiative aimed at helping disadvantaged communities in Mumbai. He has strong faith in the vision of Nanhe Kadam and is determined to achieve our goal of quality education for the underprivileged children.
